Do I fullfill the formal requirements for application?
If you have successfully graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or in a chemistry-related degree program with excellent grades and wish to expand your knowledge of the molecular sciences, then the SynCat program is the perfect match for you. The selection process involves several stages. Initial application screening will take into account your degree transcript and extracurricular activities. Subsequent stages will assess your approach to a chemical problem and, finally, your performance in an interview with SynCat professors.
Prerequisite for admission to our Master's program is sufficient knowledge of the English language at level B2 CEFR. In order to prove sufficient English language skills, you would have to provide a certificate, e.g. IELTS, TOEFL or a certificate from your university if the language of instruction for your Bachelor's program was English.
You do not need to have proof of German at the time of the application, but you need to have basic German knowledge (120 hours of instruction) at the end of your first year. Until you proof this, your enrollment is only conditionally.
An average grade of at least 2.50 (German grading system) in your Bachelor's degree is required; your degree has to be converted using the modified Bavarian formula.
